Success doesn’t come easy and often requires seeking guidance from the successful. When it comes to the success of young entrepreneurs, who is better to advise than the entrepreneurial mogul, Brendan Cox himself. Cox started his entrepreneurial journey while he was still in his school and has launched many successful startups and businesses since then. Here are five tips from Brendan Cox to put you on the path to success.

1. Set Realistic Goals

“If you want to be successful, set a goal that pushes your limits, but still has the possibility of being achieved.” — Brendan Cox

If you are aspiring to be an entrepreneur, then jump right in. Brendan Cox believes that fine-touching your business plan, again and again, will only waste time, and you should start as soon as possible. However, you must be careful while setting goals. Your goals must be achievable and realistic; otherwise, they won’t get you anywhere.

2. Don’t Do It Just For Money

“Build a business around your passion otherwise it won’t last. Money will always follow when you are doing something you genuinely enjoy.” — Brendan Cox

I entirely endorse this advice from Mr. Cox; money shouldn’t be the main motivator for you to become an entrepreneur. If you do it for money, you will lose interest as soon as you get it and eventually lose interest in business, and your business will fail if it doesn’t succeed overnight.

3. Build An Effective Network.

“Connections, connections, connections. Have a person for everything, the more people you know the easier your life will be.” — Brendan Cox

In the business world, connections are everything. Build your relationship that will help you and your business. Use social media for this purpose. Many social media platforms provide the opportunity to build business connections.

4. Learn From Your Mistakes

“Making mistakes is okay, not learning from them is not.” — Brendan Cox

It is said that mistakes are your best teacher. So learn from your mistakes, and don’t let them take you down. Instead, use them as the step toward success. By conditioning your mind this way, you train yourself to take the risk and go an extra mile to achieve our goals. But this doesn’t mean that you make uncalled for mistakes due to your incompetence. Don’t know it all at any cost and learn from others. Sometimes we get the advice where we expect the least.

5. Believe In Yourself

“Confidence is key. If you aren’t confident in your own abilities then why should your clients be?” — Brendan Cox

Lastly, you need to have confidence in your abilities. Teach yourself that “if nobody can do it, then you can! And if everybody can do it, why can’t you?” and always, always believe in yourself.
